Discover an incredible line-up of Texas musicians performing Wednesday - Sunday. The best music in the Texas Hill Country is live at Hondo's on Main. Hondo's on Main also has a great selection of Gourmet Texas Cusine!

Tonight don't miss Sol Patch with Debbi Walton and Donnie Price!!

Sol Patch jumped into the music scene in early 2000. They put together a strong repertoire of songs, quickly developed a loyal following, and soon became a favorite amongst the small, but fast-growing music scene in the Texas Hill Country region. They have performed all across Texas in live music venues with their full six piece band as well as a duet and/or trio and have played for a variety of private functions, events and festivals in their time together. Lead by Bryan Maldonado (rhythm guitar / vocals) and Melissa Weatherly (vocals), the group intertwines and weaves Jazz, Blues, R&B, Latin, Roots, & Rock n' Roll music that is enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age. In early 2009, Sol Patch released their debut album, "Everything Under The Sun" under the guidance of producer, John M. Greenberg. The music is dynamic and embracing and takes the listener on an enjoyable musical ride to the very end of the album, much like their live shows do. The cross-culture and genre influences is like a mixture of great art and fine wine that you can only be lucky to find together in the same place and Sol Patch definitely delivers!

Luckenbach Texas - Roger Creager with Rob Baird
Roger Creager with Rob Baird CD Release Party "Surrender"! Showtimes: 9:00 pm - Rob Baird,
10:15 pm - Roger Creager
Roger Creager is an adventurist; he does not like to sit still while the world passes by - he tries to get the most out of what the world has to offer. All of this finds its way into Roger’s music and live shows. His passion for life invigorates everyone around him including his fan base. Those who get hooked on his charisma and high energy come back show after show, year after year, and record after record. Creager’s newest record may be his best work yet. “Surrender”, released Jan 2012, was produced by Lloyd Maines and marks a “back-to-basics” approach for Roger. As always, Roger creates an interesting collection with songs that are very different from each other and will keep the listener’s attention start to finish. He co-wrote all songs except “Redemption Song”, a Bob Marley classic.

Rob Baird says growing up in Memphis, a city suffused with music, it was impossible not to pick up the guitar as a kid. And later, pilfering through his sister’s record collection, Tom Petty and band’s “don’t bore us get to the chorus” approach to song structure, melded with Baird’s affinity for darker-themed lyrics of Texas writers like Chris Knight and other legends.

Live Music & Fine Dining Featuring "DaHeBeGeBeeS"
DaHeBeGeBeeS spawned from the very vibrant musical melting pot that is Austin TX. Austin’s mix of Blues, Rock, Latin, Funk, and Soul helped in the making of Dahebegebees sound.

Ady Hernandez (guitar/lead vocals) a 3rd generation musician started the band with the help from Cecilio Ruiz (Drums/vocals) and Jonas Saks (Bass). Later adding its newest member Miguel McDonald (vocals) as well as various other musicians along the way.

Countless shows and miles across the U.S. helped the band form into a tight unit.

Since then the band has made its name into some of the most elite circles in the music game from Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, War, Heart, Little Joe Y La Familia, Toby Keith, Ja rule, Malo, El Chicano, Asleep at the Wheel, Willie Nelson and many more. Dahebegebees have created a fresh sound with thoroughly danceable groove based songs compiled with melody, lots of harmonies, hooks galore and substance. The group is musically sophisticated with marathon live performances drawing from such artist like Santana, Maceo Parker, Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews, and D’angelo. This band will put your soul in a happy place.

Luckenbach Picker Circle with Jeremy Steding
Luckenbach Texas Sunday afternoon Picker Circle with Jeremy Steading.
Jeremy Steding and his Austin, TX band sound different than the rest, and truly stand out. With seven singles reaching the Texas Charts, a strong, loyal fan-base, and a brand new, Walt Wilkins' produced album (I Keep on Livin', but I don't Learn), the band is off to a great start!
I Keep on Livin', but I Don't Learn, has already seen the first single reach the Top 50 on the Texas Chart, and a top... 40 hit on the U.S. Independent Country Music Chart. This album was also Jeremy's first international release, and it debuted at # 17 on the Euro-Americana Chart!
The band travels Texas and beyond, packing dance floors and beer joints with a gritty, old-school inspired sound. Steding's baritone vocals team up with a the tasteful twang of Cord Jackson's telecaster. The guitars and the tight harmony vocals of Jackson and drummer, Jim Adair, combine to create a melodic honky-tonk haven.

37th Annual Luckenbach Texas Hug-In and Valentine Ball with Gary P Nunn
Valentines Ball with Gary P Nunn. It's a Luckenbach tradition!
Texans can brag about our very own State Musician. Since the 1970s, Gary P Nunn has shared his love of everything Texas; in dance halls and on concert stages around the world. He was named Ambassador of Texas Music by the governor.
For more than 40 years, Gary P. Nunn has sung the praises of our state, and his latest album "Taking Texas To The Country" paints a picture of Texas that proves that Nunn is a master craftsman.
Positive responses are no accident. Nunn, a founding father of the progressive country movement, is also a forward thinker when it comes to choosing songs to record. His secret? The folks who scoot their boots across the dance floor each night.
Called a pioneer by his peers, Nunn ha never been afraid of blazing new music paths, a fact noticed and admired by Red Dirt and Texas musicians."I think they've learned from me that they can do it themselves" said Nunn. " I was one of the first people to make an independently produced record. I started a publishing company and a production company along with a independent label.

Live Music and Fine Dining Featuring "Elvis T Busboy and the Blues Butchers"
Crossroads Saloon and Steakhouse, a bar and restaurant located in Fredericksburg, Texas, is once again proud to host Elvis T Busboy and the Blues Butchers.

You can see pictures and a review of them from their previous show here:

http://crossroads-texas.com/music-review/elvis-t-busboy-and-the-blues-butchers.html

Elvis T. Busboy (aka Stephen Shaw) started out a roadie for the P.J. Belly band & went with him in ’89 to the Arts & Crafts festival in Kerrville, where P.J. Belly asked Shaw if he wanted to get up on the stage & sing. “I didn’t have time to think about it long enough to be nervous,” Shaw says. He got up & sang the only tune he knew, Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup’s ‘That’s All Right Mama’ & it worked. The following year Belly opened up his own Lubbock club & Shaw became the singing cook there. Shaw would stop cooking, come out & sing, then go back & cook some more. Friends started calling him Elvis because of his unique voice & would holler ‘You wanna hear the busboy sing?’ So he became ‘Elvis the Busboy’ which was eventually shortened to Elvis T. Busboy….voila!

Shaw’s popularity then started to gain & he found himself working with bands all over town when he eventually crossed paths with the Texas Blues Butchers. The Texas Blues Butchers were a side version of Lubbock’s premiere ’80′s band The Nelsons, which had 1 LP & 1 CD released. The Nelson’s toured with Culture Club & played on Farm Aid, but were struggling & thus formed the Blues Butchers to get blues gigs. Shaw started singing with the band and before they knew it they were getting gigs all over town. Shaw recalls, “they were a terrific rock ‘n’ roll band trying to play the blues, and they literally were butchering it.”

That’s not the case anymore however. Jobs have been coming so steadily, they are booked several nights a week in blues bars from Dallas to New York, and when they play it is almost always to a packed house. Shaw says, “This is more than I’d ever hoped for, Kevin Mackey & John Sprott played some amazing gigs with some big-time people in The Nelsons, and they’ll tell you that this band gets a good reaction faster than anything they’ve been involved with. The response has just been mind-boggling.”

The band’s roster has since grown to include bass player Braxton Howle and keyboardist Tim Alexander, who has 5 Grammy wins under his belt for his work with the band Asleep at the Wheel. Tim is an amazing pianist and can often be found jammin’ out tunes on the accordion some nights as well. This band is packed with talent and has such a tremendous energy…it is no wonder their fans are willing to drive across the state of Texas to see them! And if you’ve ever been to Texas, you know that’s saying a lot.

Considered by many the greatest opera ever written, this Mozart masterpiece exudes classic style while taking us on a journey through Don Giovanni's womanizing ways. They quickly lead to murder, jealousy, revenge and ultimately, his descent into Hell. Watch opera's bad boy crumble under his own arrogance while stirring up tempers around him, alive and dead.
Don Giovanni is an opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and with an Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. Mozart entered the work into his catalogue as an "opera buffa". Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. As a staple of the standard operatic repertoire, it appears as number seven on Opera America's list of the 20 most-performed operas in North America.

However, his favorite role of all is hubby and daddy. Carey and his wife, author/speaker Dena Dyer, have two sons and make their home in Amarillo, Texas. When he's not on stage at Rockbox Theater, he loves to speak and sing about being a parent, finding joy in the ordinary, and "sucking the juices" out of life.
Carey is pleased to announce the release of his debut recording project, entitled Slow Down - produced by another familiar face at Rockbox and hit songwriter Elliott Park. Your family will enjoy live variety music and wholesome comedy performed by the talented Rockbox Theater cast of professional entertainers. Our shows change from week to week but the cast stays the same...always high-quality, always family-friendly. Our 2-hour shows (with a 20-minute intermission) feature the regular cast performing our popular mix of variety and rock 'n roll music.
From Buddy Holly to the Beatles, Sgt. Peppers to Stevie Ray - you are sure to hear your favorites at a Rockbox performance. We play tunes from the Golden Era of Rock N' Roll. The 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and even music of today are all represented (although not each at every show!) We have the only professionally cast LIVE Rock N' Roll show in the Texas Hill Country. Live Music & Dinner Featuring The Dust Devils
Discover an incredible line-up of Texas musicians performing Wednesday - Sunday. The best music in the Texas Hill Country is live at Hondo's on Main. Hondo's on Main also has a great selection of Gourmet Texas Cusine!

Tonight The Dust Devils!
Representing Texas with their original southern-rockin', genre-bendin' "Farm-to-Market Rock'n'Roll" style of music, The Dust Devils' sophomore release, Gathering Dust was recorded between Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studio in Spicewood, TX and Emerald and Masterfonics in Nashville, TN.

The CD swept the 2006 Texas Music Awards winning "Album of the Year", "Song of the Year" (Walk On), "Female Vocalist of the Year" (Barbara Malteze), and "Vocal Duo of the Year." ..
Some of the talent assembled to perform on the CD include such legendary figures and top Nashville studio musicians as Barry Beckett (Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams, Jr.) and Glen Duncan (Earl Scruggs, Merle Haggard).

By a chance meeting, an instant friendship was formed with legendary photographer, Carl Dunn, (www.thisisrockandroll.com), who graciously offered up his services and contributed portrait photos of Malteze and Higgins for the CD's artwork package. Carl is known for his breathtaking photos of Led Zepplin, Janis Joplin, Robin Trower, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Ritchie Blackmore, Aerosmith and most every rock icon of that era. In 1998, Kevin Higgins and Barbara Malteze, (founding members of the group), hired their band, originally called The Cosmic Dust Devils, in Austin, while working on Higgins' solo CD, Dark Side of the Barn, which AllMusicGuide.com proclaimed was “…one of the classic country/folk/rock albums of that year.” The CD won “Album of the Year” at the 2000 Hill Country Music Awards. Higgins would go on to become a 2000 Kerrville “New Folk” Finalist later that year, earning the band a spot on the Main Stage at the 2001 Kerrville Folk Festival. Kevin Higgins, (guitars/vocals/songwriter), was raised in El Paso, playing in cover bands until he decided to pursue a career in songwriting. He moved to L.A. in the early '90s where he met Barbara Malteze, who was fronting her own blues rock band at the time. After the couple moved to Austin and recorded Higgins' solo CD, they formed the Cosmic Dust Devils, performing over 100 shows a year, all over the state of Texas. The group released a self-titled CD in 2002 which received rave reviews, such as "Higgins is quite possibly the next great Texas songwriter," -(Rockzilla.com); and "...a sparkling and important release" –(AllMusicGuide.com). In 2004, Higgins' song, “Company Time”, was placed in the movie “A Day Without A Mexican” (and released on the EMI soundtrack).
In early 2005, Barbara Malteze,(vocals/keyboards/mandolin), was invited to perform the headlining tribute at the "18th Annual Janis Joplin Birthday Bash" at the Port Arthur Civic Center. Back when Cashbox was the voice of the music industry, they wrote, "Barbara does know how to pump out ripping vocals." Malteze's past as L.A. heavy metal vocalist/songwriter for her self-titled band, Malteze, is still very much alive in Europe, as evidenced by a 3-page 2003 interview in Metal Maidens Magazine (Netherlands), the 2006 worldwide vinyl LP release of Count Your Blessings by Femetal Records, and a recent interview with "Heavy" Magazine (the 2nd largest heavy metal magazine in Germany), for the Nov. 2006 issue. Malteze continues to make waves in Texas, as she accepted the honor of "Female Vocalist of the Year" for two years in a row at the 2006 & 2007 Texas Music Awards, a feat of repetition that no other artist has accomplished thus far. ..
A Nashville music-industry showcase in 2006 garnered such reviews as “…they impressed at their showcase and are an act to watch.” –(CountryMusicFactsandNews.com). Founding member of Marshall Tucker Band, George McKorkle was on hand to introduce the band at the showcase...

XM Satellite Radio rotated cuts by the band on a regular basis beginning in Jan. 2006. In Sept. 2006, several Cumulus Broadcast stations picked up “Outlaw Girl” to brand their stations’ “outlaw” image. As of Feb. 2007, with practically no promotion, "Looking for Pearl" rose to 2 on the TexasTop40.com site, with over 5,000 downloads logged.
Critics have compared Higgins' songwriting to that of Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, Patterson Hood, and Red Stegall. "...the sound of the South never went away - it just got better with age..." (4-1/2 star review) -(AllMusicGuide.com). Higgins went on to win 2nd place in the coveted 2006 B.W. Stevenson songwriting contest held in Dallas, (just to keep the critics honest).

The Dust Devils’ industry showcases have included "Windows on Texas", (a Texas Hill Country event held in January, similar to Austin's SXSW); an “Official Texas Party” CRS-37 showcase at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville; “South by The Sons” showcase at the Sons of Hermann Hall in Dallas; and non-sanctioned appearances in Austin at Waterloo Ice House and Flipnotics during SXSW.

During the 4th Annual “Coastal Bender” , a huge fan-appreciation party held in Port Aransas, TX, The Dust Devils released a CD recorded in a week's time, Change in the Weather. The excitement surrounding the CD created quite a stir, with articles appearing; (Sept. 2006, “Rising Stars” special feature, Best in Texas Magazine), (Oct. 2006 cover story, Hill Country Happenings) and (Oct. 2006 feature interview, The Stars of Texas Magazine).

At one point, Change in the Weather charted at 25 on the Roots Music Report , staying there for several weeks.

The fans have been describing The Dust Devils as "the Led Zeppelin of Texas", because the band has a distinct way of "genre bending." They can lay down a hot honky tonk number; a ripping 70's rocker; then a bluegrass groove; scream thru a blues tune; caress a ballad...you never know what to expect with this group. And they do it all with energy, feel, abandon and talent. This is Americana at it's best...no one else is kickin' up dirt this hard, creating the real melting pot that folks call "Texas music."
Greg Patterson, DJ, KHYI 95.3, (Dallas), says it best, "...the Dust Devils are the Cinderella band of Texas..."
Encouraged by his bandmates to release a solo cd, Kevin released FIND YOUR SHINE on Little Train Records in Feb 2010. Funded soley by investors from his fan base and recorded in seven days at East Austin's premiere analog studio under the guidance of producer Stephen Doster (Nanci Griffith, James Honeyman-Scott) the cd has been receiving international critical acclaim, as well as reaching #53 on the Americana Chart.

Live Music and Fine Dining Featuring "Phil Hamilton"
Phil Hamilton’s conviction to the essence of Texas Country Music
inspired him to start a band and set his sights on the top. Unique,
but still planted in the foundation and core of Texas Country, Phil
Hamilton has broad appeal. Heavy guitar riffs lure the rockers and
the genuine ballads entice the soft at heart.

His story starts much the same as others, he was born and raised
in Burleson, Texas and began singing in church. After getting his
start at the Greenwood Saloon in Bluffdale, TX thanks to Alan
Parsons, his fan base started rapidly growing, the gigs started
coming in and now he had two top 15 singles on the Texas Music
Chart and Texas Regional Radio Charts with “Nothing to Lose”
and “Nine Mile.” His third single “You Can Have Me” from his soon
to be released sophomore project is in the top 20′s and climbing..
Hamilton was also nominated as 2011′s Texas Regional Radio &
Music Association Top New Male Vocalist of the Year.

Phil’s debut CD Nothing to Lose was released in April 2010 on
Winding Road Music and features songs written by Phil Hamilton
and band members Collin Maloney and Andy Emery.

Drawing from his own real life experiences, Phil Hamilton pens
songs with authentic lyrics. His talent and commitment as a song
writer and performer allows him to turn out a steady thread of
dynamic songs. These songs keep the Phil Hamilton fans
captivated.

The live show is nothing less than amazing and leaves fans
wanting more. In a very short time Phil Hamilton is getting noticed
by the media (April 5, 2010 appearance on Good Day Dallas),
superstar artists in the Texas scene and most importantly, the fans.
Phil was selected as the top 3 new Texas Country bands in DFW
as voted by 95.9 The Ranch listeners in 2009. He’s opened for
major Texas/Red Dirt Artists like the Casey Donahew Band and
the Josh Abbott Band.

The sky is the limit for this artist and he is climbing to the top
quickly to become the face of the Texas Red Dirt Music Movement.

Welcome Back Hector!

The son of Cuban refugees who met in Texas, Ward’s sixteen years of experience in the Austin music scene, including his previous band Sigmund Fraud, are obvious in the band’s high energy, dance-floor filling shows. The members include Ward on guitar and lead vocals, Cari Hutson on vocals, Phil Roach on guitar, Mike McGurk on drums and vibes, Scott Beardsley on bass guitar, and Dave Farris on congas and percussion. The horn line, known for enthusiastically leaving the stage and taking the music into the audience, includes Tiger Anaya on trumpet, Matthew Price on trombone, and Mitch Quintanilla on saxophone, flute and clarinet.

Of Hector Ward and the Big Time’s 2011 South by Southwest showcase, the Austin Chronicle wrote, “Being wheelchair-bound doesn’t hinder Hector Ward from leading one of the most dynamic new bands in Austin’s musical universe. With his huge growl and a nine-piece horn-fueled ensemble, the Big Time utterly attacks an assortment of styles, from Southern soul to Latin pop.”

MATT WILSON has played every kind of concert venue there is, from a Broadway theatre in New York City to a packed and rockin’ bar on downtown Austin’s famed 6th Street.

For two years Matt wowed sold-out audiences as the “Piano Man” in the First National Tour of the Billy Joel/Twyla Tharp musical “Movin’ Out”.

He performed at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, and guest starred in the Carolina Opry at Myrtle Beach in 2006. The Texas State Senate has honored Wilson with a resolution for his achievements in the area of fine arts. He’s been featured at numerous piano bars around the country such as Jellyrolls at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. In 2007 Matt completed his theatrical multimedia tribute to the great rock n roll piano players, My Baby Grand. The show has been performed in venues such as Zach Scott Theater, Tex Arts and The Long Center in Austin, TX. Each year, Matt Wilson headlines numerous private and social events for companies and parties of all sizes.

Matt Wilson offers the ultimate in entertainment. He never fails to elicit excitement from his audience and he does so with intelligence and verve. With 4 CD’s to his credit Wilson’s songwriting is catchy without being pandering and is infused with a degree of depth not to be expected in most of the pop world. When requested, Wilson calls on his massive repertoire of cover tunes and performs them with an energy and artistry equal to the original.

Singing and playing music since his childhood, Matt Kimbrow is making a career of his natural born talents and is now considered one of Texas' hottest rising country music stars. The Fort Worth Texas based country singer/songwriter was discovered in 2009 after being heard in a local honky-tonk by Ryan Fussell, founder of Winding Road Music.

Live Music & Dinner Featuring the McKay Brothers
Discover an incredible line-up of Texas musicians performing Wednesday - Sunday. The best music in the Texas Hill Country is live at Hondo's on Main. Hondo's on Main also has a great selection of Gourmet Texas Cuisine!

Tonight the McKays!

"It's always a good sign when guys who use "brothers" in their name are actually brothers. Noel and Hollin McKay are fifth-generation Texans who revel in the best things the state has to offer: food, a frosty beverage and an honest twang. Their impressive sophomore effort, Cold Beer and Hot Tamales, was produced by Lloyd Maines and features a couple of bilingual efforts that understand the emotions and history behind a song such as Butch Hancock's "She Never Spoke Spanish to Me." Never straying too far from their iconic influences (Willie, Guy Clark and Robert Earle Keen), The McKay Brothers are still capable of producing songs of heartfelt reflection ("Warmer Place to Sleep") as well as an apolitical protest number about the suburbanization of the Hill Country (the poignant "Disappearing Texas"). Noel and Hollin make music that celebrates Texas without succumbing to dimwitted clichés or pandering to the lowest hayseed denominator like so many slick, Nashville hustlers who erroneously claim a link to authentic country music." from the Dallas Observer

GARRISON BROTHERS DISTILLERY - HYE, TEXAS

Garrison Brothers Distillery™ is a small distilled spirits plant located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We manufacture Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey™ from our kitchen, still-house and barrel barns in Hye, Texas.
JUST A SCENIC DRIVE AWAY!

The “Sit and Sip” Tour is a guided walk of the ranch-distillery with detailed information about the bourbon whiskey industry and the history of Garrison Brothers. You’ll visit the kitchen, smell the sweet corn cooking, taste our distiller’s beer, and nose fermenting sweet mash. Our cooks will explain the process from “corn to cork.”

You’ll also tour the legendary Garrison Brothers stillhouse and sample fresh-flowing 135-proof “white dog”, right from the stills. We’ll visit the barreling barn and you’ll sign your own barrel. If we’re barreling the day you’re there, we’ll allow you the honor of hammering in a bung. Our distillers will explain how the stills operate and what it is we do that makes Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey
such an extraordinary bourbon.

Finally, we’ll walk you through our showcase barrel barn and pour you a small sample of our limited release Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the 2008 Small Batch Vintage, in our saloon and gift shop. Here, our hospitality manager will give a detailed explanation of the importance of barrel maturation in making fine bourbon whiskey. This tour takes about an hour and a half.

Texas Hill Country #1
on The New York Times
31 Places to Go This Summer

"Who needs Europe? The Texas Hill Country, west of Austin and north of San Antonio, might be the next best thing to crossing the Atlantic. The region is lush, colorful and, unlike much of the pancake-flat state, dotted with beautiful green hills that are evocative of Tuscany or the south of France. Moreover, the region is speckled with 22 wineries that buzz with food and music festivals year round. And towns like Fredericksburg offer a taste of the Old World, with German-style biergartens and schnitzelhauser. "
