Artisans at Rocky Hill
Artisans at Rocky Hill proudly announces a special Juried Exhibition & Sale with gourd artists from across the state of Texas. Dates of this special event at Artisans at Rocky Hill are April 18th through May 18th . This juried show will include work
by some of the finest gourd artists from across the state. Many participants are members of the Texas Gourd Society. Participating artists include Linda Baker (Ingram), Julia Birky (McGregor), Michael Cosgrove (Hempstead), Sue Haberer (Levelland), Suzanne Haffey (Austin), Darla Hines (Magnolia), Barbie Holton (Kerrville), Kathleen Martin (Rockwall),
Judy Richie (Kerrville), Lynda Smith (Dallas), Patty Sorensen (Montgomery), Lelia & Jimmy Sublett (Wimberley),
Bev Tomek (Blanco), Betty Vertin (Ingram) and Don Vyskocil (Houston). A special Reception with the Artists will be
held Friday evening, April 18 th from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Artisans at Rocky Hill. Refreshments will be served.
The opening reception will provide the first opportunity for gallery visitors to not only view the many pieces in the show
but, to also purchase them and visit with the artist who created the wonderful work. All pieces from this special exhibition
and sale will remain on display throughout the month and sold pieces will be available for pick up on Tuesday, May 20 th.
Special arrangements can be made for traveling visitors. Demonstrations by participating gourd artists will take place each Saturday during the 30 day event from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. In addition to education, the demonstrations will
provide an opportunity to observe the various techniques gourd artists use in creating this unique art-form. This type of sculptural work includes the techniques of staining, painting, pyrography, weaving, carving, plus fastening various embellishments such as pine needles, copper, turquoise and more.

Artisans’ main focus is showcasing artisans and craftsmen from the Texas Hill Country along with education through demonstration for gallery visitors. Featured on a full-time basis are over 40 area artisans and craftsmen whose talents
include paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor, fine furnishings, wood turnings, pottery, mosaics, copper and iron sculpture, mixed media, fused glass, jewelry, and more. Artisans at Rocky Hill is located 5-1/2 miles east of Fredericksburg and 1.5
miles west of Wildseed Farms at 6266 East US Highway 290. Regular business hours are Tuesday through Saturday,
10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and closed on Monday. For more information about
