Tonya and Dane Embrey
October 27th 2007
On October 27th, 2007 my husband, Dane Embrey and I were married at The Trois Estate. This day quickly became the best day of our lives and is greatly due to our experience at The Trois Estate. It is hard for us to sum up in words our amazing adventure with Rebecca and her staff.
Dane and I knew from the moment we got engaged that we wanted a destination wedding but could not decide on a location. One night we typed into a Google search “Texas Hill Country Weddings” which lead us to The Trois Estate website. After viewing the website, I immediately called to schedule an appointment with Rebecca. The Trois Estate was only the second venue we visited, but I will never forget the feeling I felt when we drove up the stone path. In that instant, I knew this was the site where I would marry the man of my dreams.
During our first meeting with Rebecca, we toured the property while enjoying complimentary glasses of wine. We instantaneously fell head over heels for Rebecca and in love with the ambiance of The Trois Estate. Naturally the unbelievable safari room and grotto were huge selling points for Dane. I was impressed with the marvelous courtyard, restaurant, and quaint chapel. Neither Dane nor I could have imagined such a remarkable place tucked away in the Texas Hills. I remember driving off the property and calling my parents, Phil & Babs McCoy, to tell them we had found our wedding location. However, at this point, we still had dozens of other venues to view. Over the next few weeks we saw many lovely settings, but nothing compared in my heart to The Trois Estate. Dane and my mother finally agreed that we should stop looking and book our dream destination. Ironically, it was very fitting that we were married just across from The Enchanted Rock State Park because one of my husband’s ancestors was the first female to ride a horse up the limestone rock.
My parents planned a trip down to meet us at The Trois Estate for dinner and a tour. We all left with full stomachs, our mouths’ watering and could not wait to schedule our food and wine tasting. At our tasting, the chef prepared a wonderful beef entrée topped with their signature marinara and tilapia in a lemon caper sauce served with risotto and asparagus. The wines Rebecca chose for us were simply perfect. We tasted crème brule, tiramisu, cheesecake, and chocolate cake for dessert. Every bite of the desserts was delectable, and we wanted every one of our wedding guests to experience them. So we decided not to have a traditional bride and grooms cake but to serve a dessert buffet. Viola! We now had our menu for the wedding reception planned, and it was just that easy. As a matter of fact, every time we have dined at Troisi’s Italian Ristorante, the food has been delicious.
From that point on Rebecca and her staff were so accommodating, and went to great lengths to make our planning process a breeze. They gladly worked with my fantastic wedding planner, Tricia Hamil, and all the other vendors. I honestly cannot remember a single request they did not make a reality. Rebecca is a natural at preparing for a wedding, and she had such a calming affect on us all. She was so composed, and I knew that all the details would be in complete order.
We chose to marry the weekend of October 27th because it was a full moon and Enchanted Rock just glows by the moonlight. My family and I arrived at The Trois Estate on Thursday the 25th. Our rooms were inviting, serene and served as a tranquil get-away.
Before I knew it, Saturday morning had arrived. Tricia and her assistant were creating the dazzling flowers arrangements and setting the elegant tables. Rebecca and her staff went beyond the call of duty by moving tables, chairs, and pews into place. The courtyard and terrace was transformed into a breathtaking backdrop for our wedding and reception. After the ceremony and during photographs, they were kind enough to open all areas of the property for our guests to tour. Rebecca arranged a private dinning experience for Dane and I in our bridal suite. We were able to sit down, enjoy our dinner, and bask in the first few moments as husband and wife. With the Red Hot Cool Band playing, our reception was out of this world and incredible fun for our guests. The overall wedding weekend and our time at The Trois Estate was purely mystical and spiritual.
For months after the wedding, our friends and family continue to express what a wonderful time they had at our Trois Estate wedding. Countless loved ones have made remarks about our enticing dinner and dessert buffet and the Estate’s gorgeous grounds. According to our Matron of Honor, Heather Boyer (sister of the bride) “Tonya and Dane’s wedding weekend could not have been more magical. There were no details left undone. My family and I believe our stay at The Trois Estate was thoroughly fabulous.”
Dane and I feel so blessed to have discovered The Trois Estate and are honored to have been married there. We are so grateful our closest family and friends celebrated with us on the most memorable night of our lives. In the simplest of terms our encounter with Rebecca and The Trois Estate was enchanting.
The charm of Texas and the ambiance of Europe aren’t unreasonable desires in a wedding location. The search for our wedding venue began in and around Fredericksburg and San Antonio, the hometowns of Aaron and me. Several places were found but none fit our fancy as a proper place to be wed. Lucky for us a chance meeting between Aaron’s mother and Rebecca Trois led to a telling of our dilemma of finding a unique environment for the wedding. I was intrigued by the description of Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock. After the initial visit, I was hooked and knew that we had found the special place with the ingredients for a memorable wedding and entertaining experience.
Driving the narrow, windy road up to the complex, you become aware that something monumental was about to appear and it did. The esthetics of Trois Estate came into view with its combination of earth tones, geometric shapes, and nature joined into a community. The cubistic masonry buildings painted pale sienna brown with accents of wood and glass fulfilled my anticipation. Arches complimented strategic entrances to the courtyard and the saloon. Eclectic touches like colored bottles set in some walls, aged wood used to make trims, and spectacular antiquities are incorporated into the various buildings. The restaurant is majestic with a wall of windows full of the Enchanted Rock view, distinctive Charles Trois designed tables and chairs, the wood beamed roof, and of course, the delicious cuisine and wine. The aura of Trois is so warm and gleams bright. The picture was completed with the personal touches of the host and hostess, Rebecca and Charles Trois, who are exceptional people, creative and genuine. It is quite difficult to express in words how wonderful Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock is.
The wedding dazzled, simply dazzled. The unique Texas and European old world village of buildings presented delightful scenery for the nuptials. The main building’s hacienda courtyard was the setting for the exchanging of our vows. The guests were seated on antique church pews and original design Trois chairs filling the natural space while others viewed from above on the veranda. My bridesmaids who were dressed in blue satin gowns entered the courtyard from the double doors of the bridal suite and were joined from the veranda stairs by Aaron’s groom’s men and together they walked down the isle. My father and I were presented from the bridal suite’s double doors and crossed the courtyard to the smiles and cheers of family and friends. Aaron and I exchanged vows in front of the antique doors and sculptured threshold that complete the courtyard and serve as entrance to the restaurant. The rustic exteriors with the inclusion of nature and the sky created an environment that complimented my Pronovias strapless gown of silk embroidered in gold with large rose clusters. The drama from the elegant gown to the spectacular Trois Estate permitted us to have the wedding of our dreams.
After the wedding, our guests were treated to a joyful celebration of food and spirits. The gracious and capable staff served in the restaurant a delicious buffet of Italian delicacies under the watchful eye of chef-in-residence Rebecca Trois. After the feast, with a view of Enchanted Rock from the veranda, the moon, and the stars Aaron, our guests and I danced the night away. The merriment and best wishes culminated with everyone toasting us by singing along to Dean Martin’s, “That’s Amore”. The wedding guests were charmed by the Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock, the marvelous collections, the wonderful people, and the overall camaraderie combined to make a wedding that dazzled. Our wedding was truly great and it had all to do with the location and the people you will find at Trois Estate.
