The National Museum of the Pacific War will mark the annual Day of Remembrance, an important date for the Japanese American community, with cultural activities and educational opportunities. On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 authorizing the Secretary of War to prescribe certain areas as military zones, clearing the way for the creation of internment camps for Japanese Americans, among others. Taiko drummers, origami lessons and lectures from leading historians are scheduled.
