Come spend a romantic weekend (or two) in the stunning Texas Hill Country, sipping and sampling wine and chocolate at the 25 Hill Country wineries. The Wine Lovers Trail is hosted on February 5-7 and 12-14 this year. Being the trail takes place around Valentine’s Day, spending the weekend with a loved one, savoring wine and nibbling on chocolate, there is no better way to show the person you love than by experiencing the occasion together.
Enjoy the self-guided tour for one or both weekends of the Wine Lovers Trail. You can start by collecting your box of pre selected handmade local chocolates at the designated winery of your choice. Then you can take your custom chocolates into each winery where they will be offering a minimum of 1 and up to 3 complimentary tastes of wine for you to pair with.
Four of the finest chocolatiers have been hand-picked right from our beautiful Texas Hill Country backyard: Chocolat in Fredericksburg, Wiseman House Chocolates in Hico, Payton Artisan Chocolates in Round Rock and Fat Turkey Chocolate in Austin. These four companies have created an assortment of chocolates to pair with the vast number of wines crafted at the 25 wineries. Ticket costs for the trail are $35/person and $60/couple. Individual tickets include 1 set of complimentary tastes at each winery and 1 box of chocolate. Couple tickets include 2 sets of complimentary tastes at each winery and 2 boxes of chocolate.

A tradition in Fredericksburg is the FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK FREDERICKSBURG, with galleries open until 8:00pm. Fredericksburg's art galleries will be focusing on some aspect of exhibiting artists' works, which may include painting and fine craft demonstrations, casual art talks, opportunities to meet artists, special showings and entertainment. Participants will experience the Fredericksburg art scene up close and personal while enjoying fine wines from local wineries and beyond all day long. Participating galleries are Artisans at Rocky Hill, Charles Beckendorf Gallery, Fredericksburg Art Gallery, The Good Art Co., Photography 414, Rodeo Studio Gallery, Uptown Market, Whistle Pik Galleries, Fredericksburg Art Guild and InSight Gallery.

With a music career already spanning decades Bo has made a lot of fans along the way
With genuine musical heritage and steeped in classic country traditions Bo has found a permanent place here in Austin, TX. An authentic style all his own Bo sets a vocal standard we haven't seen in years.
After arriving in town late January 2007 Bo began booking himself as a solo act around the Lake Travis area, but it wasn’t long before he had landed a gig for a Trio consisting of a stand up bass / rhythm guitar & vocals / electric guitar. Hi's strong baritone voice has compared with Marty Robbins, Faron Young, Merle Haggard, & even Johnny Cash.
With a regular gig at one of Austins Premier Clubs (The Saxon Pub) Bo is steadily working his way through Texas and helping him along are his Regular Monthly sponsors and Sponsors, like Budweiser/Browns Dist.
Bo's unique take on music deranges traditional hits and makes them his own. A little Classic Country, a bit of Blues, some Rock n’ Roll, and a lot of heart and soul is what Bo Porter delivers. Bo includes the audience in his performances, which keeps them coming back. His comedic sensibility, and audience communication endears him to the audiences as well as the club owners. The Bo Porter show is a must see.

Turn your weekend into a Family Fun Saturday! The first and third Saturday of each month, we add special activities to your museum experience. Try your hand at churning butter, making rope or cornhusk dolls, participating in a spelling bee, decorating cookies or designing old-fashioned holiday cards.
Activities are held at the Pioneer Museum. Drop in anytime between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and learn something new!

Experience some of the 1900s meat processing methods used on an old German farm. Watch the curing of bacon and the art of stuffing of sausage. Visit with interpreters at the farm on methods and ways of handling foods and compare them to today's techniques. Come and enjoy our wine, shop for unique gifts, and relax to music in the piazza, patios and enclosed pavilion. This Saturday blue king, Ben Beckendorf. Ben was born in Austin Texas in the 50s. Texas was already in the groove of the Blues - with the likes of T-Bone Walker, Lightnin' Hopkins, Freddie King, and many more. Little did they know another bluesman had been born. Ever since he knew what a guitar was, Ben wanted one, and in 1964 Ben picked up his first guitar and never put it down. He learned all kinds of music - He liked the Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk, & Pop. He listened to his music heroes with a yearning ear. In 1968 Ben wrote his first song ( Beautiful Day-which he still plays for live audiences) and has since written and recorded over 800 songs in many different styles and textures. Ben paints a very vivid picture with his lyrics, and his guitar sometimes seems to speak in words instead of notes. He writes songs for everyday people about everyday things. His melodic ballads can touch and soothe even the most stringent hearts and his rock and blues tunes produce irresistible rhythms with backbone beats.

Built around the award-winning, mature songwriting of Kevin Higgins, and representing Texas with their original southern-rockin', genre-bendin' “Farm-to-Market Rock'n'Roll” style of music, The Dust Devils once again state their independence from hype and trends. With the 2007 release of their third album, Change in the Weather, (Little Train Records), the Dust Devils combine diversity with raw talent, allowing them to move about freely on the musical landscape. Add to that the visual and musical advantage of a male and female fronting the band, and you have a winning combination all the way around.

Max Stalling views himself as a songwriter first and as a performer a distant second. This tidbit might come as a surprise to the multitudes of loyal fans that regularly attend his crowded shows. Stalling composes songs that seem about the here and now yet seem to also have one foot planted in the past. Sporting a vintage LBJ style “open road” hat, which is dangerously close to becoming his trademark, Stalling’s shows are at once intimate and up-close with him chatting up the crowd between songs, and a ‘tour de force’ of sound on the shoulders of his top-shelf band.
Andie Kay Joyner and Heather Stalling (blacktopGYPSY) had to experience life before they felt ready to write and sing about it. After meeting in 1992, both were already accomplished musicians/vocalists, having grown up in musical families that exposed them to bluegrass festivals and folk scenes at an early age. For the next decade, the girls further groomed themselves for their own band by playing in several other bands, backing dozens of Texas artists like Mark David Manders, Bob Schneider, Ed Burleson, Johnny Lee, and Max Stalling.
