TWC The Perfect Pairing: Bread and Wine

Pairing wine with food is a lifelong pursuit, with many do’s and don’ts. In general, it comes down to personal preference and a goal of complementary flavors that balance and enhance your experience. Over the years, wine experts focused on meats, cheeses, and dishes, but they never thought to look at another staple of any global cuisine – bread.  So, we thought it would be fun to look at the bread and find some delicious pairings.

Light the Night Christmas Parade

See Fredericksburg's historic Main Street awash in the glow of this illuminated holiday night parade.  Reserved bleacher seating, with amenities, is sold out. Seating along the rest of the route is free.  Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes from Washington St. to Edison St. Attendees should bring folding chairs and blankets. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures following the parade at 8 pm in the Peppermint Platz area of the Adelsverein Halle. There will also be a children's activity area.

Singing Christmas Tree at Pioneer Museum

December 3, 2022 - December 3, 2022 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The annual Singing Christmas Tree will take place on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum. The 26 foot tall lighted Christmas tree will be the setting for a volunteer community chorus to present a family holiday concert. The tree is a giant metal structure with greenery and lights added to make the effect complete. The singers stand on the tree at different levels. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Gillespie County Historical Society Sanctuary Hall. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Both the main entrance and the side gate to the museum on Milam Street will be open.


New Year’s Eve w/Cody Wider & The Lonestar Souvenirs

A Texas native, Cody Wider was born and raised in the heart of the East Texas Pineywoods. Hailing from the small map dot of Colmesneil, Texas, his brand of music is like wearing your favorite pair of faded jeans with a new pair of custom boots. Cody's brother-in-law, renowned guitarist and artist Gary Lee Cox, convinced Cody to play a few shows with him and his band, The Lonestar Souvenirs. The Lonestar Souvenirs is a band out of Austin, TX. Their music consists of a diverse list of original songs in the tune of Texas Country, Blues, Rock and Pop mixed in with a wide variety of cover songs.


Markplatz New Years Ball Drop

Ring in the New Year in downtown Fredericksburg! The city is hosting a family-friendly event on New Year's Eve. The event will feature children’s amusements, face painting, music, dance performances, free activities, arts and crafts and concludes with a ball drop on the Square at 6:30 pm.

Cross Mountain New Year’s Eve Hike

Non-competitive walk in the old German tradition of Volkssporting on New Year's Eve. All are welcome. Meet at Cross Mountain at 11:00 am. Walkers must finish by 4:00 pm.
