One of the Texas Hill Country’s biggest parades has over 200 units, marches down Main Street and kicks off the 134th annual Gillespie County Fair. The parade starts behind the courthouse and travels east to S. Washington, then turns and goes west on Main to Edison St. Bring your chairs and arrive early!

Grape Stomping is the traditional way of separating juice from skins (white wine process) or wine from skins (red wine process). Guests can stomp grapes for fun on a "first come, first served" basis. And there is more!!! On Sunday, September 4, we will judge the "Lucy & the Italian Woman Costume Contest" for the best Lucille Ball & the Italian Woman impersonation! Dress up, join the fun & drink some wine! Children may stomp grapes but must be accompanied by their parents. Reservations are not required. The grape stomp takes place under a tent but it is outdoors. We recommend wearing casual clothes, hat, sunscreen and staying hydrated. Fredericksburg, Texas, is well-known for its juicy summer peaches, award-winning Texas wine and impressive culinary scene - so it’s no surprise that Fredericksburg also hosts dozens of food and wine events each year. At this event, enjoy Texas wineries and Texas-made specialty partners, Texas gourmet chefs demonstrating culinary talents at the Grape Expectations Cooking School and the Gargantuan Great Grape Toss along with a silent auction and live entertainment. There are also several additional special events to attend including special dinners and a brunch for which tickets must be purchased in advance. See Fredericksburg's historic Main Street awash in the glow of this illuminated holiday night parade. Reserved bleacher seating, with amenities, is sold out. Seating along the rest of the route is free. Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes from Washington St. to Edison St. Attendees should bring folding chairs and blankets. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures following the parade at 8 pm in the Peppermint Platz area of the Adelsverein Halle. There will also be a children's activity area.
