This was such a wonderful private getaway! The best of the camping world - no WiFi, out in the country, beautiful stargazing, even mowed trails for us to meander on behind the cabin - but with all the perks of a cabin like an amazing bath tub, private outdoor hot tub, outdoor shower, and COLD AC! Didn’t have to clean the cabin before checkout either. It’s about 20 minutes from Fredericksburg so it’s a bit out there but we liked that.

The cutest little cabin I’ve ever been at. We loved every moment of it. It was so cozy and so quiet. The hummingbirds chasing one another on the front porch were the sweetest thing I’ve seen in forever!! And I loved all the cats that came to visit. I don’t own any and I loved every single minute with those sweet cats!! They were the highlight of my trip! We loved being disconnected from wifi and enjoyed the selection of DVDs offered. The hot tub was great and the owner was fast and responsive with a small issue we had with it. I don’t have a single complaint - every thing was on point and great. Highly highly recommended!!

This is an amazing place to stay. Bring deer corn you won't be disappointed. We only got to stay 2 nights but will definitely be back. Had so much fun feeding and watching the deer and kitties. Hot tub was amazing after a 5 hour drive and Fredericksburg didn't disappoint.

The property is lovely with complete seclusion. It has utensils, microwave, mini fridge, and a Keurig coffee maker. The hot tub and jacuzzi were really nice and well maintained. The nights out there are super dark (I'd recommend bringing a good flashlight) and the skies are glorious!

This was our third trip to this cabin in the last 3 years. It's the perfect getaway to escape civilization without being more than 20 minutes from it. The hosts are super-friendly and VERY quick to respond, and the cabin itself is just perfect and private. Lots of birds to watch, wildlife to view, and even a couple of friendly cats from time to time to visit on the porch. And the night sky... wow!

We had a fantastic time at this bnb. I wish we had been out there longer to enjoy the peace and quiet more. 8 deer popped out of the trees minutes after we filled the feeder, and we also got to feed a bunch of sweet little kitties. Would visit again.

We LOVED the Texas star. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend. Next time we will book one more night to get all the benefits of the amazing place. I love the cats that greeted us at the beginning of our stay. The cabin itself was absolutely amazing. Perfect for a couple trip. We loved waking up to the deer in the yard. Having coffee and a maker was perfect for us. We weren’t sure if utensils would be included so we got some on our H-E-B run but come to find out EVERYTHING we needed was provided in the kitchen. We didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit (burn ban) or the grill but we took advantage of the quiet serene atmosphere and napped whenever we could on the amazingly comfortable bed. The hot tub was fantastic and all the stuff was provided for us. We loved watching the sunset from the back porch in the hot tub. We will be back in the future and look forward to our next visit.

Texas Star is now at the top of our list of bnb experiences. It is a beautiful, relaxing place, secluded in the woods. The hot tub was a great place to relax. The hot tub/ shower porch was hidden from view (from wildlife, since there were no other people around) by walls or shrubbery. Even though there is no wifi, there is a nice selection of movies on DVD to watch.

An Oasis in paradise. Cabin was spotless and everything was so comfortable. Spent two days resting & relaxing. The gazebo in the early evening-perfect place for a glass of wine and listening to the birds in concert, while the setting sun brings the colors of the woods and flowers to full view. My husband and I wanted a quiet getaway for our 19th anniversary. Whitetail oaks was perfect and exactly what we wanted. Quiet, secluded and a peaceful atmosphere. We loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch watching the cats, birds, hummingbirds, squirrels and deer eat. Enjoy the hot tub and jacuzzi tub to relax. In the evening cooking on the grill and sitting in front of the fire pit with our music playing looking up at the stars was so relaxing. Gave us time to reconnect and concentrate on each other without the distractions of our busy world. Fredericksburg just a short distance away if we wanted to shop, eat or get anything. Will definitely go again.

We started off our trip by visiting Grape Creek Winery. We really enjoyed our first winery together. Our second day we spent hiking Enchanted Rock, which is only 25 minutes away from here. At night we loved coming back to the cabin, seeing deer, watching all of the birds and just taking in nature. This was a good break from reality. Amazing Stay! We loved being out in the middle of nowhere and just enjoying each other's company! Along with all the animals we saw! We got some hummingbird food while we were out and about and filled the feeder and so many came to eat! The location was absolutely beautiful, and so hidden it felt like an escape, yet close to town enough that I could get anything I needed! Let it be noted, it is in the woods literally, and I did run into a scorpion in the room, but honestly it was fine, an expected trade for the views of nature!

This was our second stay in the Texas Star and our fifth trip to Whitetail Oaks. We've been working non stop since COVID hit and desperately needed an escape - and these cabins never fail us! We've really enjoyed the wildlife, including a tiny frog that made his home on the handle of the outdoor shower and would'nt budge for anything and the raccoon making his appearance around 10 pm and climbing the bird feeder. This was just what we needed and wish we could stay longer! PS of all the things we love about this place, the outdoor shower may be our favorite. Two thumbs up to the new improvements - roof/bench/wall.

This was our first stay at Whitetail Oaks and Fredericksburg all together! This weekend is our 1 year wedding anniversary and we were bound and determined to not let COVID stop our trip! We will be back for sure but next time for a longer stay. My husband has been working non-stop, and i'm in my final year of nursing school, this weekend was just what the doctor ordered. We love the outdoor shower, sunrise/sunset and the stars are just breath taking. We are dreading leaving today but excited to go hike Enchanted Rock!

It's been 2 long years but we finally made it back for our 11th visit! Due to the ill health and the passing of my mother -in-law we haven't been able to make it here. We enjoyed it as much as we always have and we are planning our 12th visit , hopefully, next month! We find that each time we come we spend less and less time in town and more time here just enjoying each other! I think next time we'll stay in the newest cabin (casa del Sol) . We hope everyone enjoys this place as much as we do. Robert and Dorinda are wonderful people who have worked hard to provide a much needed respite from the outside pressures of our day to day lives. This is an awesome cozy cabin surrounded by nature. Wonderful two person get away. It was so quiet and the light pollution isnt really there so you can see so many stars. DvD player with lots of movies to pick from if you want to just sit on the love seat and have some popcorn with a movie or walk some of the deer trails that are all over the place. 5/5 stars on everything from my wife and I. Its also 20 minutes from Enchanted rock and Fredricksburg

I loved the Texas Star Cabin. I found bird seed for the feeder by the front door and humming bird food in the kitchen cupboard. It was lovely sitting on the porch watching the local wildlife. The cabin was very clean. There is a keurig coffee maker. Take extra coffee if you like several cups a day.

This cabin was exactly as pictured and tucked into the countryside away from the traffic and noise of town. It was well furnished and spotless and what my husband and I were looking for to escape the city and enjoy time with each other

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous inside and out. Immaculately clean. Plenty of towels, coffee etc. We saw deer, rabbits, and an armadillo among the plethora of wildflowers and trees that surround the cabin. Took a wonderful scenic drive to Enchanted Rock and then walked around Fredericksburg, where every meal we had was fabulous. Oh and the jacuzzi tub was perfect after a long day of hiking. Highly recommend, worth every penny.

This is our 9th year coming to the Hill Country and our 1st time at Whitetail Oaks. The scenery and quiet peacefulness is our favorite to date! Sitting around the fire pit in the evenings was the BEST! Thank you for sharing your cozy cabin with us.

My wife and I are returning guests and I must say each time we have been here to relax, enjoy each other, and gaze at the magnificent beauty of nature, we reconnect and only want to stay longer. We watched at least two or three families of cardinals enjoying the water bath and the bird seed. The wildlife in general is amazing! The clear skies to star gaze was breathtaking! I think we saw Heaven!!! But most of all keeping our marriage alive and sacred, we were able to spend precious time with each other and continue to rekindle our beautiful relationship! Twenty two years and counting! Thank you for such a great opportunity. We will be back!!
