In Fredericksburg, harvest season typically kicks off in August and runs through early September. Local wineries and farms come alive with activity, offering immersive experiences that go beyond the usual tasting room visit.
One of the most beloved traditions during harvest is the grape stomp — a hands-on, feet-in experience where you can help press the season’s crop (and yes, get a little messy in the process).

Oompah at its Best! Celebrate Fredericksburg’s German heritage in October with food and drink, a waltz contest, music on four stages all weekend, artisans, Kinderpark, souvenirs and more! Fun for the whole family! OkTUBAfest on Friday. Meet the brewmeisters: Shiner and Leinenkugel Brewing Company and Altstadt Waltz Contest on Friday. Kraut Run, Hauptstrasse Chicken Dance, Samuel Adams Beer Stein Hoist and Polka Contest on Saturday. 42 Domino Tournament, and Family Dirndle and Lederhosen Contest all on Sunday. No pets allowed. Two and three day passes will also be available.
The Fredericksburg Oktoberfest Park & Ride offers convenient parking by providing riders with all day park and ride access between the Gillespie County Fairgrounds parking area and the Oktoberfest festival located in downtown Fredericksburg. Shuttles leave every 30 minutes. $10 adults; age 6 and under free. Entry and drink tickets will be available to buy there as well. https://www.oktoberfestparkandride.com/

Our favorite sweet treat, now on Main St! Piccolina, Fredericksburg’s most iconic food truck, now has a brick-and-mortar location on E. Main! Serving small batch Italian ice made with locally sourced Hill Country ingredients. Offering snacks, Italian ice, and speciality merchandise in the heart of Fredericksburg’s infamous downtown! Stop by and beat the heat with Piccolina!
Their grand opening takes place on June 23rd, and they will be open for regular business hours weekly Thursday – Monday 11:00am – 6:00pm after that!

Memorial Day Weekend in Fredericksburg is fast approaching! This fun-filled 3 day weekend is packed with events and happenings. However you choose to spend the weekend, we recommend spending it in Fredericksburg, the best small town in Texas!
Fredericksburg, TX (and the nearby Stonewall, TX) are FAMOUS for their peaches! Before the wineries, visitors would still make the trip to pick peaches at one of the local orchards, and stop by all the local farm stands along the highway to pick up pies, ice cream, and other farm fresh peach treats. Peak peach season is mid-May to mid-August, making these local favorites the perfect summertime sweet. Texas Hill Country peaches can also be found at local restaurants in the form of seasonal specials and other offerings.
