Join the 2024 Oktoberfest, hosted by the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance, from October 4 to 6 at Marktplatz, 100 Block of W. Main St., Fredericksburg, TX 78624. The festival runs daily with hours from 6:00 pm to midnight on Friday, 10:00 am to midnight on Saturday, and 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults, $1 for kids ages 7-12, and free for those 6 and under. Two-day passes are $20 and three-day passes are $25. The event features German-themed festivities including live music on four stages, waltz contests, food, drinks, artisans, a Kinderpark, and more. Highlights include OkTUBAfest, the Kraut Run, and various contests throughout the weekend. Pets are not allowed. For a full schedule and ticket information, visit the website. Additionally, the Fredericksburg Park & Ride offers convenient shuttle service between the Gillespie County Fairgrounds and the festival for $10, with free rides for children 6 and under. IT’S TIME TO PARADE
The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce Light the Night Christmas Parade, presented by H-E-B is back!
This beautifully illuminated night parade with over 120 entries will roll down the city’s historic Main Street, between the intersections of Washington and Bowie streets, on Friday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and pick your favorite viewing location! Please maintain a safe distance from the parade entries and do not allow children to move into the street. Entries are prohibited from tossing candy or passing out items of any kind to keep everyone safe.

For those unable to attend in-person, be sure to tune into CBS Austin from 6:30-7 p.m. for live parade coverage! The parade, in its entirety, will also be livestreamed on the station’s website and FBG.Live. The parade broadcast is sponsored by Methodist Hospital Hill Country.

All sales are FINAL. Reserved bleacher tickets are non-refundable. In the event of a weather-related parade cancellation, bleacher tickets will be honored the parade’s alternate date of Friday, December 8, 2023. While we do not expect a COVID-19 related cancellation, we reserve the right to cancel for reasons of public health without refund or future reuse of tickets.

Experience the unique mix of German Christmas traditions and warm Texan hospitality this Weihnachtszeit, or Christmas season, in Fredericksburg. Celebrate the season with friends, family and neighbors with a nightly lighting of the Community Christmas Tree and German Christmas Pyramid during Fredericksburg’s Christmas Nights of Lights.
Beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 21, all are invited to experience a 10-minute audio presentation, featuring the story of the town’s German heritage, holiday carols and concluding with a countdown to the lighting of Marktplatz.
Fredericksburg’s Christmas Nights of Lights continues nightly through Jan. 7. Each evening will feature holiday music starting at 5 p.m., and the 6 p.m. audio presentation and lighting countdown. After the countdown, the music will conclude at 6:30 p.m. Please note that there will be no audio presentation on December 1 or December 31 but the lights will come on as usual.
Since 2008, Eisbahn has become an integral part of the Christmas season in Fredericksburg and the Hill Country. Eisbahn attracts hundreds of visitors, skaters, and spectators from local communities and metropolitan areas who come to Fredericksburg to share in our town’s holiday spirit. Last year we welcomed more skaters than ever, and this year we are anticipating to break previous records! For many families, Eisbahn has become an annual family holiday tradition.
One hundred percent (100%) of the families at Heritage School volunteer to work Eisbahn. It is only through family volunteerism that Eisbahn is successful year after year. A portion of the proceeds from Eisbahn is donated to two local charities. In addition, Eisbahn contributes to needs-based tuition assistance for qualifying families at Heritage School.

The Fredericksburg Oktoberfest Park & Ride offers convenient parking by providing riders with all day park and ride access between the Gillespie County Fairgrounds parking area and the Oktoberfest festival located in downtown Fredericksburg.
