Pioneer Museum

Willkommen to the Pioneer Museum. Located in the Historic West Main Shopping District on 3 acres, beautifully landscaped with native plants of the Texas Hill Country, there are currently 11 historic buildings to tour: Arhelger Bathhouse, Dambach-Besier House, Fassel-Roeder House, Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Fighter Museum, Kammlah Buildings, Patton-Haebig House, Sanctuary, Schandua House, Social Hall, Vereins Kirche, Wagon Yard, Walton-Smith Log Cabin, Weber Sunday House, and White Oak School. Immerse yourself in history… Walk through “real life” early Texas homes, out-buildings, shops and barns. View demonstrations of early Texas family life, education, professions, and culture. You will see how the pioneers built Fredericksburg from the ground up. There are numerous artifacts including stagecoach wagons, a blacksmith shop, antique craftsmen’s tool and equipment, fencing materials, and cooking utensils. Experience Fredericksburg’s German Heritage at the Pioneer Museum!
