Historic 1885 County Jail Tours

Explore the Historic Gillespie County Jail of 1885 with guided tours on the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This two-story stone structure, built by C.F. Priess and Bro., served as the county’s jail until 1939. Learn about its history, from the jailer’s quarters on the ground floor to the steel-clad cells on the second floor. Admission is $5 for ages 6 and up; children 5 and under are free. Payments can be made by credit card online or at the Pioneer Museum, with cash accepted at the jail.
